Has anybody got sugestions on repairing a carbon boom.
It has a clean break where my back hand goes.
I don't think I can replace one side cause it is one continous piece all way round.
Thanks
Nigel

If you are in Perth you have a couple of chances.
Try Hydrodynamix in Sth Freo on 9433 5450 or 0407532602.
Also Steve Stratfold may be able to help 0421477001.
If it's a cheapy don't bother though!

Get a hydrodynamic aluminium boom at 1/3 of the cost of a carbon boom I have been using these booms for over 15 years now and they hold up at gear munching scarborough. They're tough, well priced and easy to get spare parts for if you ever need too.

An ally boom would feel heavy as lead after using carbon fibre...and spongy.

Cut a piece off the extension - about 6 inches - will have to sand it down so that it fits in either side of the break - once it fits in fairly snugglely, pull it out and then apply glue all over and put it back in.

Worked a treat for a very newish carbon boom we had and has lasted 2 full on seasons and still working fine

Means your boom has a shorter range of extension but at least you still have a great boom - or possiblely scrounge around for a old carbon extension and then keep your full range of extension

tough break on that one, bot if it is on the straight section just use the extension tip, deffinetly a good way to go and saves you a few hundred bucks. still even better if you have a carbon kite bar, what beter use for it then to save a boom? well hope you getting the breeze and swell which were getting in syd cause it's been pretty awesome the last coupla days, flat rock must be going off by now.

have a good one,
poley.

Hey is that the ben that was up at Uni in lismore here?
If it you must have a spare bit down at ECBWSS.
If not i'll get the saw out.
Flat rock has been going off, too big for pole boarders.
I;ve been kiting mostly getting into the waves.
And I aint trashing my kite bar for nothing
It is the thought that counts though thanks.
See ya

the threat of local police is always a good reason to stay clear of lismore, you say one remark and... Also i had to start working again and blah blah blah. so now i'm totally screwed and doing a stupid degree called engineering, i don't recommend it if anyone is thinking that way. but i was passing through not to long ago and there were way to many kiters and i think one board out all very dissapointing. the shop has a NP 200-245 $400 but unless it's for your flat water rig i wouldn't trust it as its a race boom.
