Hi all, I've just moved from Melbourne to Sydney, and looking to get back into some sailing. I'm used to sailing at Inverloch in Victoria, and occasionally in the Bay, so just flat water. I read that Botany Bay is the best place? Any others? I'm living in Coogee.

Also I left all my gear behind so looking to pick up preferably a package of everything ready to go! Any ideas of what to get and where?

Thanks
Tim

Welcome to Sydney.
Botany bay will be perfect for you. Lots of friendly windsurfers and jet skiers
Only windsurf shop in Sydney is Windsurfnsnow at Collaroy on the northern beaches.
Give them a call on 9971 0999.

Tim, PM me if you're keen to hookup with the me and the regulars who sail Botany. I can't help you out with gear though, but do contact the guys at Collaroy like KA43 suggests... you should get a good deal if you hire for a week or so and then they'll likely sell it to you cheap if you want to buy it, or keep an eye out on SB for plenty of cheap gear.

Welcome to Sydney!!

There are a lot of spots all around Botany Bay depending on the wind direction.
1. Kyeemagh in a N/E
2. Along the Grand Parade in SE if you want bumps
3. St George Sailing club around the corner if you want flat SE SW water
4. Foreshore drive in a W

Remi sells through www.thewindsurfingshed.com.au and is based in Coogee. He sails botany too.
