I used to sail Nobby's back in the 90's and thought I might venture out on a flat day just for old times sake..eek..

Did the Pasha Bulker change the reef much? You used to be able to get out through a channel from gybe rock through the reef or the northern channel above the reef.
I'm going to whimp & use my 125ltre freeride which I know will be a handful if there is any wind chop but I'm used to it whereas I haven't used my 95 ltre enough to feel comfortable subplaning & light wind waterstarting..I suppose I'll be aiming to be out in about 12 to maybe 20kts NE.
Silly.I had 20years where I never uphauled & now I feel nervous if I don't have the option..

age..?
I'm going to wear a Neil pryde impact/ buoyancy vest with a full camelback ( c 2kgs weight) on the back of it.Although I only intend to go out the back, maybe get a few jumps and play on a swell ( if there are any) will the vest be a problem if I get munched and have to restart?
Also I seem to recall if you get munched you have to get to the mast tip and push it under & into the oncoming waves ..is that right? I wonder if I'd be quick enough these days..

Mind you adrenaline can get you to do amazing things!

Argh! I'm going to die!!

( assuming I don't whimp out..)
