Looks like it got hit by a 52+ knot gust just before 6am this morning & got bent out of shape (by about 180 degrees)

Fort Denison & Kurnell wind thingos are also orf the air

I ended up going to Valentine. When I got there there was nothing but then it started to come in.Rigged the 5.7m & small board & totally overpowered so after a few runs I came in & put a 5m on.It picked up again so totally overpowered.Didnt get to do much as a result ( hanging on for grim death ) but nice to get out in consistent enough wind for the smaller board..its going to be great in summer . Strained the muscles in my Right forearm again as the harness lines were a bit too far back & I was luffing the sail a lot with my arms.Had to come in as I had no strength in my R arm..Got into trouble last time I kept sailing so i played it safe & finished.I need to build up my arm muscles!
Did you get out today & if so where? I'm hoping to get out at Valentine again c middle of the day Friday if it blows..Hopefully I can pick the right size sail next time!

Got out at sanctuary point today, 4.7 and 95L...board was way to big. The point perp wind meter registered gusts up to 35 knots....I think that one hit me when I had my 5.8 up....Ouch!
I hit the water about 9:30am this morning with my 5.8 and cruised across the lake for a nicely powered up run, then the southerly kicked in...came in an switched to a 5.0 and got smashed around for a while. Rigged my 4.7 in the end, put another 2cm on my extension and down hauled the crap out of it...things were ok from then. Finished up at about 2:30 pm just as the rain stopped and the sun came out? It was an awesome day and I'm looking forward to the summer, I'll sleep well tonight.

Hope you guys got out....cheers.

Thats the only thing I like about using larger sails ( although my biggest is 6.6m)..you get back to the small ones & So much easier to gybe etc!
Where did you go out? I saw 2 sea kayakers half way across the lake paddling downwind past Toronto .. they were keen I like up to 20kts but it was gusting 30kts +!

Went to Umina Beach at 3pm with a 80 litre wave board and 4.7m & 5.3 sails. Got out of the car and was surprised by the wind gusts of 25-35+ knots plus the very large powerful looking waves rolling in on the outgoing tide. No one else was out (Kiters or sailboarders). Wondered why.......decided it was too cold and too gusty to get wet. Discretion won. Valour nil.
