yep it was good at Pinaroo myself & 3 mates out blasting. Though, While sitting on the beach attempting to downhaul my sail further because of the wind intensifying, a moron tried to launch his kite behind me but lost control narrowly missing me by inches as it plunged into the sand. one of the cords cut me behind the ear. I'm bloody lucky that it wasn't sliced off completely. THis j**k didn't even apologise just quickly packed up and scampered off the beach. I'm not normally outspoken about things like this however i've watched my local spot become a more dangerous sailing destination largely due to kiters who don't know the basic yachting rules and who don't give a rip about how close they get to others. If these guys want respect, then they must show it to others. Respect begets respect.

Roach. Sorry to hear about that. I was sailing Pinneroo as well about 4ish. I did see some guy with a bow style kite getting lofted all over the place and thought it looked a touch windy for him. When was you out? Nice weather.

nathan, from 1 thru 3. That kiting guy you talk of was not the culprit. nice guy from germany even if not terribly savvy with rigging techniques. guys like him know their limits and politely stay out of the way of others. this other guy clearly had no reason being there.

Canberra, KITE-FREE!!!!!

I've not no problem with anyone teabagging safely, but luckily here there are no kiters. thats one advantage to this place.

We tell everyone the beaches and lakes are too small, and there's not enough room to get started. lots of trees around, and islands, and a very irregular shaped lake. Marvellous really.

I'm guessing it's just a sh1t place for wind and just a sh1t place in general? Just mention ACT and people flee in the opposite direction. Bloody Howard
