I am helping the whitewater paddling people by building a mobile slalom course. (We will use on Collie River and other places). We have gates and cord, but need some supports to put on the banks. Testing proves that the perfect thing is an old 1/2 mast - broken and split ones are fine, as we can cut them. Carbon, glass, Al, are all ok!
