When I used to sail at Rodd Pt Drummoyne in the 80's there was an old bloke with 1 leg that sailed there, I didnt know him but I'm sure a few people here know who he is

That was Ray Laney also called "Rainman". He lost most of his foot in a work accident when he was a teenager I believe. Did not stop him racing motorcycles in the 70's and early 80's on Bultacos. He was a "B" Grader as well......rode at Oran Park, Bathurst, Amaroo Park and Lakeside from memory. I used to be a Flag Marshall in the late 70's then I met him sailboarding at Rodd Point after many years.

Still riding today on a Triumph Street Triple, see him every so often at the Pie In the Sky at the Old Pacific Hwy.

He also used to repair sailboards for a while in the 80's and 90's but gave it up due to the toxic chemicals he was using.

He is still a good bike rider!!!

There was a couple of time we had to fish for Ray prosthetic foot, sometimes it came off in the wash, fortunately it float!
