Hi,
I have not sailed for quite a while and want to get back into it. I am putting gear together, but need a board and not sure the right size, don't want to get caught out with a board too small (done this in the past!). Skills: can't waterstart yet, learning to use a harness and foot straps. Sail is new Neil Pryde 6.2. Board: I used to sail an old Bombora 292, about 160L I think. I am looking at the Kinetic 135L advertised in Seabreaze (SA), but am not sure if this will be too much of a jump as I need to uphaul. Advise I am getting is that it should be ok (I'm about 88kg), and I should grow into the board. Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to try the board first. I was initially looking for 150L (like a Go or something) but not having much luck in the second hand department. Mainly lake sailiing, fresh water. Any advise would be great!
Thank you in advance

That could be perfect . You should be able to uphaul it , will be a bit wobbly but has enough width . I say go for it!!!

Great, thanks! I do like a challenge, and it is a nice wide board so should be stable. Thanks for the reply =)

I think this board will really suit you - plenty of width so will be very stable, more so than your old bombora. And plenty of float for your 88kg. Price seems reasonable too. make sure it come with a decent fin at least 46cm. I think you'll be very happy with this eventually you'll want a bigger sail/fin and this will handle it nicely - go for it!

Dont forget that sailing on fresh water is less bouyant - when you finally get to take you new kit to salt water, you should fine it more floaty.

Im 92 kgs and used to up haul on a 130 ltr, was a tad wobbly, you just tend to wanna learn to water start faster, if you want to learn to water start make sure its really windy so you get the feel. Drag ya bum, have straight arms, let the wind lift you up and stay low until powered up.

Dont worry you will know what I mean. It's a good thing

Cheers
