I'm wanting to buy a roof rack pod (like the one below) not sure if I can get one that can fit a 2 piece 4m mast, 3 sails and 2 booms. Does anyone use a pod for windsurf gear?

In another thread very recently somebody said just that. The longest is the 400 mast and it just went in diagonally.
I wonder why though, if it will fit in the pod it will fit up the middle inside? .... so you will fit it all and 4 passengers and the roof is totally free for the boards.

a mate fits his board, mast, boom and a couple of sails and the wetsuit and harness in his pod (2.3m??) - mostly has his gear in there so it is ready when conditions are on - good solution for inner city no garage life

I had gone down this road also...I couldnt find a box long enough to take a board...allthough I did get one that takes up to and incl a 430 mast..fit pretty much everything except the board ( either my 2012 80l kode or my 2013 triwave ).
Yakima is the brand name..bit cheaper than the Thule options also...
Surf.de is an overseas roofbox company that makes them long specifically for surfboards etc but being in europe doesnt really make is cost effective...but worth a look !

Had one years ago, may have been thule..cost heaps, worth every penny!
Fitted 2 x booms, 5 sails, 2 x masts 460 those days, and all the other trimmings including wetsuits towles etc etc ...
There are heaps of size variables..think they even have vents these days?
It kept 1 x new car at the time in good nick, was nice to have it all out of the car.
After a few years in the sun the plastic breaks down, and then they start to fall apart.
Did about 60k with it, a lot on out back WA roads.
I prefer to own a van, but these are the next best thing, handy usefull and practical, go for it.
