Good morning everyone,

I finally managed to develop a Sailing web application, which initially was to go with the Watch applications I wrote for Garimin watches, but I've decided to open it up for everyone and everything that I can.

You don't need a Garmin, or a watch, or even my watch applciations to use the software. If you currently use a GPS for sailing, and you can save races as a GPX , or for Garmin you can use ( FIT ) type, then you can load this file in my app to get some great performance data:
How many degrees do you tack or gybe through
How much speed, time and distance do you loose
Replay the race
Create your own polar graph to compare setups or modes
Overlay laps, or overlay completely differnet sessions to compare manouvres, timing, best places to sail etc.
This and more in Debrief mode.

I didn't stop there - which is why this has taken me forever.

I also created a Live mode - which you can use with a mobile phone as a substitute to record races. It also has all the basic navigation features you might expect ( not obstacle / depth clearance, and cannot be relied on for navigation for various reasons ) . It has route follow, relative steering like my watch app, race countdown with distance to line and VMG / Actual to line, reverse layline and port/starboard cues.

Plenty of apps have that and more, so I felt compelled to go a step further, and to my knowledge this is probably the only web application for water racing that also has a live racing mode. You create a race area / time / day / race boundaries / pass a race route to all competitors or waypoints, and set other options to make the race public or private or password protected, or spectate ( or coach). Anyone can then join the race provided you are within the race boundary, have the password and the time is within the race window. You can see all other racers live within the application and follow allong, spectators can also see everyone but themselves. You have access to all the normal race features during this time, and if you record the session, it will record all competitors and replay all competitors in Debrief mode.

I've done a lot of testing, but nothing beats people testing with their own devices, as people would know from my previous apps. It's free for a few weeks to try out, and if you have feadback Click the FB button on the application.

Note - Trying to automate the importing of recorded sessions from Garmin so at least there is some watch support for those preferring watches over phones / tablets, but at the moment there are changes happening on the Garmin side and until they are complete, that function will remain either manual ( from external sources ), or is automatic if recording from the live mode within sailracerpro.com

Here's a intro Vid that I created below. I'd recommend joining a few days before you go racing if you want to just use the full free functionality to really try everything out.
