used to be a common problem 20 years ago when we used to sail Landyachts across country around Youanmi mine site Mast would hit a mulga branch and the yacht would suddenly go straight up
Although the help will have been aprreciated - its better to let the KOOK do it himself, as this will give him more time for reflection... on why his Dumbarse was too close to shore - giving us all another bad rep !!!!!!
There was one stuck in a tree just last week. I'm still kicking myself for not having my camera with me! It was so funny, the stupid bl@@dy thing was almost completely torn in half by the time it came down! Jeez why would you launch/recover a kite next to a tree? Perhaps the guy thought he'd better stay close to the windsurf club in case he needed a rescue.
Some one posted this a couple of months back .....NOW THATS ENTERTAINMENT you want action /adrenelin hit try this ,it needed a re run .........................
we were all kooks once, and had to learn our lessons,, it just looks more epic when it's a kiter, don't be too hard on him., i'm sure he's had a fair serve of shame pie already
Agree windy Miller. When I started windsurfing and just started to plane, I went smack bang into a channel marker close to the launching area. The noise echoed everywhere and you really feel the shame. Didn't want to come back in after that one.

I still always sail too fast when its too shallow! I dont care if people see me stack it..its more that I keep damaging booms. It always seems that just as I really get onto a fast run - I fast run out of water!!
The "silly kiter" in question is quite a nice fellow. At least it provides a good way of meeting people. Often now it's a couple of kiters and a couple of blokarts and myself out on the water which is always good. I figure that when the wind dies, they look more like a bobbing lure than I do.
There was even another windsurfer out the other day which is a bit rare where I live.
His kite is still sailable and didn't seem to sustain too much damage.
