In regard to a recent post I made......

It's been a long time between drinks. Gusty or not, our local spot (SW Vic) is an offshore for the next couple of days....I'll be there regardless! (hopefully with someone)

At about 2.30 yesterday arvo, 2 stupid intermediate sailboarders (myself included) could be spotted clinging to the rocky outcrop of the port reclaim on the opposite side of our local harbour, trying to 'sink' our sails as to not lose all gear!!! After waiting 20 minutes or so, attempted the swim up-wind and somehow limped-in, sheeted out and copping a hiding from what seemed to be a mysterious wind that couldn't make its mind up whether it was from the west, north or southwest (in that order).

In winds that gust to 91km/h, moral is, don't rig a 5.5 sail with an 80cm wide short-board.....disaster is imminent!!!

Although not as unlucky as a pair of teenage kids who got caught in their sailboat, torn sail, upturned, towed back in by fishing boat...very lucky!

I'll be a lot smarter in the future...anyway, gotta go, just got a text from the guy I was stranded with yesterday.

WIND'S UP AGAIN, LET'S HAVE ANOTHER CRACK AT IT!!!

Could always have been much worse, you could have been kiting

No broken gear, some bruised pride seems like you got out of it pretty well.

Ejmack,

Wind picked-up at about 2.30ish...all weather sites showed around 30kt NW all day, (& rising).....went down to the beach, hmmm, not even a white-cap, rigged a 6.5, (expecting to be 'smacked' by a few gusts at least) got planing once!!! (for only 100m). Actually had to uphaul every time. Got wet/cold.

A safer day than saturday, (not as much fun though!!!)

Imagine how boring your post could have been if you didn't try to go out on Saturday.

If he was kiting he'd probably be fine and at the pub instead of sharing his bad day with us.

As we share the Cpt Rank, I will treat you as a gentlemen

Clearly, another person from the ACT (read Canberra) with NO IDEA

Dear Cpt PUGWASH

I will give you the respect of a cpt because of your elaborate tractor and backup camel.

Good day to you sir.

Greetings my good fellow,

I think it is unlikely that I should desire to kite. There is a much greater chance that I would desire to be a ROCKSTAR
