Sadly I only heard about Simon's passing at the weekend.
I can't believe anyone in WA has not posted anything, he was a one of the best guys I've met in windsurfing.
The sport in WA and many other places around the world owes a lot to Simon, he must have taught hundreds of people to sail.
He will be sadly missed by many.

Intimations of mortality... Life is too short for anything but loving and windsurfing.

That's really sad to hear about Simon. I met Simon a few years back on a trip to Fiji and ended up going over to his hire centre at Safety Bay to see what the sailing was like and have been back to WA every year since. He was a nice bloke to be around and was a typical windsurfing person in that he was always stoked to sail and was happy to talk windsurfing with anyone.
He was a really genuine bloke and it is sad to hear that he won't be around anymore.

I can also say that he played a big part in helping me while learning to windsurf.
Rest in peace Simon.

So sad to hear of his passing. Simon was a great bloke, I saw him at the shop and at the river heaps a few years back, but only sailed with him once when he visited Esperance in about 2005-6 season. Had a ripper sesh that day, glassy, head high, 5 bottom turns per wave and we were the only two people out there. That was also the last time I saw him.
Great way to remember a mate.

Can't believe it. Simon was awesome - so positive and a pleasure to be around. Huge loss to windsurfing. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.
Stark reminder of what's important - doing the stuff you love with the people you love and not stressing over the small stuff. Every single sail is so precious.
