The most powerful deterrent or psychological inhibiter, to an attention seeking troll, in behaviour change psychology, is called negative re-inforcement, that is you ignore them, give them no payoff.

Everytime we respond to one of these, even when we are negative (punishing), it gives them a payoff coz they get a response (Even punishment is seen as a payoff), and therefore it only encourages them.

When you see a provocative topic like "Why is Kiting better than Wsurfing", don't even open it, watch it wither away, and the troll withers with it.
