I would think a tap (or lots of taps) with a sporty shoe on the leading and trailing edge of the fin would do it. What have you tried?

what kind of box is it,

once with a tutle i took the screws out and blocked one hole with my thumb and the other one i put the hose on it and tured it rite up, and used presure to loosen it up, and this would also work with a power box, but if it is a us box, i cant think of a way,

I was about to say the same thing. Pressure. or a light tap with the hammer.

If it's got screw/s coming out the top, you can have the screws 1/2 turn loose and tap with a hammer. Danger is if you tap too hard, and haven't got enough thread engaged you can strip the threads.

Be very careful about taping the fin itself, especially the fragile trailing edge.

Jon, as they're both new..... did you install the fin? Sorry don't wanna tell u how to suck eggs but it has my wrried why a new fin won't come out of a new board...Just in case ........if it is a tuttle box the fin may have needed some sanding to make it a nice snug fit..... sometimes they are too tight and won't go in flush. You didn't do the screws up to 1000ft/lb to force the fin to fit in flush did you?

If so there is more you need to talk about apart from just getting it out!

I'm with Greenleader. I've carried a small rubber mallet in my windsurfing trailer for over ten years now, and it's surprising how many times I use it... mainly on misbehaving fins and kite surfers (only kidding about the fins).

hahaha love it, but why not carry a mallet for the fins and a big sledge hammer for the kites

rubber mallet, smack the little bastard on the leading edge, works on most types, wave boards get stuck all the time, sand tends to make things more difficult, like two piece mast, what a pain.....

Thanks for the help everyone. I managed to get it out with a bit of tapping and pulling back and forth. As it is a tutle, I'll remember about pushing from the screw holes on the other side too.
