well if the swell is big: Mandurah , definetely a far better wave riding...
Lancelin is always bigger but once you 've done 2 bottom it's a crumbling lip...
Also if the wind is a bit west better mandurah
enjoy!!..
If good I 'll be stuck at Dutchies ( don't have time for the drive)

im heading to mandurah with a gang of mates, dont know were in mandurah though. Also with winter the wind isn't as consistant as with summer so you could get stuck out the back at Lancelin and have to swim back in which wouldn't be fun. And the futher south you go in winter the more wind there is

Leski,

You caught me out

Seriously,

A Bay closes out at 4 metres, therefore Lano's is better for that reason. At 3 mtres yes have to admit A bay is better

When it's 4 metres Shark Pits and Geeries are the best waves south till you get to MRiver. You only have to travel 1.5 km north of A Bay to get to either break.

Remember when it's been WNW for 8 hours and it turns SW, don't expect nice clean waves they'll be lumpy, choppy and all over the place for at least a couple of hours.

Timing is critical if you want top class down the line wavesailing!!

Sorry, Decrep! I was caught out bad, let's sail WNW if it's good, you never know about the SWester this time of year, by the time the break cleans itself up the wind'll be gone for sure

GONE WITH THE WIND

I just love blind optimism.

Thanks for the good hints. I have never surfed in Mandura, are all spots in the Avalon bay, or where are Shark Pits, Geeries and Lano? I hope it is not a big secret.

Dear Dr Fruitloop,

You spelt Mandurah wrong so your banned

Elmo said it aint happening tommorow in Mandurah, so Lano's will probably be best, Lano's is short for Lancellin, 127 km north of Perth CBD. Best all-round windsurfing spot in WA. Main break is good but crowded. South Passage, is best wave around, just need more perfect conditions than Mains. Go there!! stay away from mandurah, only old middle aged and decrepit retired and wannabe retired windsurfers wavesail that because they aint good enuff to sail Lano's.

Geeries and Shark Pits are secret spots, so can't tell you about them. Geeries is located on the estuary side of the dawesville cut 500 metres north, in East Port canals, and shark pits is located in front of Elmo's place, which is 3 km's south of the cut entry estuary side. Huge breaks when the swell gets over 4 metres and gets into the estuary it's just perfect side shore down the line wavesailing.

See earlier post for real locations. if coming from Perth, off main highway, turn right at Yeedong Rd, then last turn on your right before you hit the beach is where you'll find Geeries and Shark Pits. Turn R at this road and about 2-300 metres you'll find the rigging area, I doubt you;ll be first there. Don't let anyone know I told you or I'll get my fat arse kicked.

If you see some fat, balding, or very hairy looking, middleaged, and decrepit looking Wavesailors do not approach them, they could be dangerous to your mental health, they're a pack of fkn weirdo's down that way It's that small town, inbred sort of thing that you find in a place like Mandewra.

Hey Softy ,
sorry for the misspelling of Mandurah it will never happen again. Thanks for your tips, although it is quite difficult for me to decrypt the posts of all of you. I have to read everthing a couple of times to decide whether it is a joke or not, Germans are so stupid.

You wouldn't be our resident "Flying Doctor" would you???

if so, I think I may have met you when you got your gear.

Hardie wasn't joking. Although he has improved considerably since he had one of his heads removed (dosn't lose so many arguments now with himself)

Catch ya in the water later today J after I've dobne the breaky gig with the tribe.

Yeah was good viewing watching all you young guys going off,
Had a bit of fun myself, with out getting too involved with the heavy stuff.
Noticed "buckets" claimed a few more victims, but nothing too dramatic, worst I saw was Hardy's trashed sail!
Also saw a kite tangled half way up the dune.
I managed to hurt my ribs on the run home, got back winded on a tiny jump off a knee high wave, and slammed into drink side first, couldn't believe how much pain from such a little jump.

The Perth crew who came down to gearies today were kicking some serious bottom.

The Filthyameture was out at sharkies today, wouldn't have known it was his first attempt at wave sailing.

Decrepit saw your stack, looked painfull.

The kite belonged to the local identity whom we all know and you should always be upwind off.

The other kiting crew who were flying the kites the size of large hankies seemed to do alright considering the conditions.

It would be good if there were some photo's posted as there was some great sailing from the metro crew.

Bring on the next blow

Sore But Satisfied

Hi Guys, sorry Leski,
finally I have been in Geeries and it was awesome, one of the better days for me. I don't want to decribe it in more details (for those who have not been there) otherwise Leski will probably kill me or at least never answer my questions again.

It is a pity, that I don't know how all you look like, may be I have talked to most of you and did not even know it.

Elmo, I am a doctor but not in medical science and sometimes I fly, but I don't think that you have talked to me when I got my gear, because I shipped it from Germany. However, it is quite easy to identify me, because I have an orange board from ON which was a small board manufacturer from Hamburg. Usally, I surf Dutchies.

See You

Hi Guys,
as the one or the other seemed to recognise me by my board (definitly not by my extreme hard action), I expect you to give up your anonymity when we meet next time. I don't want to be aloooooone anymore . May be someone can teach me how to do frontloops, I always get stuck with my mast top.
