the best way to stop that dirt muck is to stop running down swans

Paddy,

Beginners usually need flat water, that's why the river is so good. Put up with it is my suggestion, clean your board after, it's only a bit of river sediment.

The best ocean sailing for beginners is Safety Bay, but it might be a bit far you

TOW (Time on water) is important when a beginner, but in ideal conditions preferably, which means flat water.

Hi Paddy.
The tannin stains can be removed easily with almost (?) anything with phosphoric acid in it, such as Ranex rust killer or CLR.
You just have to remember to wash it off & give it a rub of Armoural
( NOT ON THE DECK!) That prevents the paint from going matt & absorbing more gunge.
Cheers.

Hey Paddy,
Stay where you on the river for the time being,as Melville is as good as it gets in the winter fronts.
Once the summer kicks in though , make a trip down to Safety Bay, as the wind is so much cleaner, and the water stays really flat no matter waht the wind strength. We have a great windsurfing club down here as well as the school and hire centre.

Woodies point, for sure. you have a choice of north side near the pumping jetty, nice and flat with the sou westers, or the south side with some nice size wind shop to jump in.

I use to work at a surf shop and found that the green agent most common house hold have to wash dishes, green scourer and elbow grease gets that swan stain off or sun tan on the surface of aging boards. Even better though add a tad of CLR clear and you'll definatly be on to it.
