I've got a 5.4 I'm testing out...although there's no wind to try it! Tough looking sail though. Lots of x-ply and only a small panel of monofilm. Looks good, will let you know how it goes. They'll be in the shops around Sep/Oct.

Is NP going to drop one of thier other wave sails or have 4 to choose from? Hope they don't drop the Alpha as I have a 5.0 and was thinking of getting the 5.8

Now could be a good time to get a 5.8 Alpha! Should be able to get a good deal on a 2008 one. NP are still making the Alpha in 2009 but it would seem like the logical one to drop if they decided 4 wave sails were too many. Plus they kind of have 5 wave sails as the new Firefly (looks a lot like 2008 Expression) is also positioned as a wave orientated sail.

Np are keeping the zone, combat, and alpha, as well as the new Fly. So there pretty much a wavesail in there for everyone.
I used the the 4.8 Fly on the weekend with the 68ltr twin fin, a great combination. I found the fly to be a little more backhandy than the zone but a hell of alot more manouveurable than the alpha. I am looking foward to trying it out in a few different angles (cross on ect) to see how it goes. The other day was cross off5-30kts so it was a good day to try it out for wind range, and it performed really well, a really fun sail to use and super light in your hands. I'll let you know how it goes in cross on when I get the chance

Hey Steve,
Yeah, Green point is the best place in a NW. Should be awesome later this week. Unfortunately I've got to work so will only be out there from 7:30-8:00am. Will be perfect conditions for you to get those forwards!

Yeah, got out at the end of the day for a few hours but I was a bit ambitious taking a 3.7 and spent most of the time struggling to get going. Was some good opportunities for Shove-its and stalled forwards when the gusts were in though. I might give it a go early tomorrow morning. Depends how windy it is. 50 knots of ice cold wind might not be that great...

Sailed today at Rickets... Had a ball! Sailed from 11-4 Hooting round on a 4mtr all day! Great fun!

Tried a few forwards, but i think i was way too upwind when i tried, cos when i did, there was now power in the backhand when i went for it and i generally just landed on my face, dinting my mates sail

Anyway, see you out on the water!

Cheers
