WARNING: If Gopro footage makes you sick then I don't advise you to watch because it's from a helmet cam, hence not very still. But some may appreciate it for something different. But trial and error is good I already have an idea to be able to film and watch where I'm riding without taking the camera off the rider.

That's really cool footage good work.
Kites are such a good way to film wave sailing because they are so maneuverable. Matty took some of the footage of Wizards from kite and it was a sick angle.

It just sucks how close you have to be to someone with a GoPro to make it look like they are not 100m away!!

Sorry dude, can't share this one. My last 2 visits I've had a solo session @ 2-3ft then this one 2 days ago @ 3-4ft with one of my best mates. My lips are sealed, I'm sure you can understand.

Yeah it sucks alright. I think it's the wide angle lens, also makes 4ft waves look like 1ft. People @ Gopro must have realised this, they have just released the budget HD model which is heaps cheaper to purchase, same HD quality, but no wide angle.

I had to stay about 5m away because this pole dancer suffers string paranoia

Also the footage would have been heaps better when he was wearing the helmet but we must have moved the camera during the exchange out on the water.I noticed when we got to the beach it had tilted up about 15 degrees, which reduced the view of the wave ahead and the board. But hey it's all trial and error, I already have a few changes for next time.

That was actually shot on a standard def vio pov unit

The Go Pro HD picture is far superior (i had 4 of them - 1 is at the bottom of Dunsborough bay- so now i only have 3 to work with) - but- as you said - they could do with some less wide lens options...

i dont get it ............mind you there wasnt to much given away ......but hey you want to see all my vhs from 20 yr ago .........yous crew wouldnt have a wave to your selves and kiters would be banned. oh and you would have to pay to sail there because some one would set up a shop for your ice cream and a boom gate to issue sailing tickets for the day ,,,,,oh may be its because you missing your perth buddies / crowds on the beach and everyone not knowing what your up to ?
