i'm all for it, it's common sense, it's good business with our southern neighbours, it's fun, it's healthy, it's just not fair that the sun comes up at 4 a.m. and go's down at 7 p.m.

the qld government are a bunch of amish fundamentalists!

by the way nebs, i am just starting to explore your links,
as colonel clink said "veeary interesting"

NSW starts this weekend, cant bloody wait. most of us wish we could have it from Sep to March.
You guys should definitely get on the band wagon. its so good, heaps of time to enjoy the arvo hours, windsurf, surf, swim etc.
get the most out of those summer sea breezes

Just heard Beat the Meaty on the wireless saying daylight saving WONT be coming to the sunny state because it causes CANCER. Hmm... maybe we should invite him along to the next (dare I say it?) Wind Wanderers meet and introduce him to the addictive joys of windsurfing. Or abduct his children and get them adicted... Yes.

Hey that's post number 201. TA DA... and all free. Yer lucky I'm an old lefty otherwise you'd be payin through the nose fer these gems.

Aw cripes now I've heard it all.

What about the growing "Obesity epidemic", surely a bit more of a worry than some easily-treated melanomas? You've got to wonder what his agenda is.

Year that's the ticket, get the premier addicted to a non-work related activity. I can see it now, public holidays when the wind is over 20 knots, daylight savings forward 2 hours, and government subsidies for all boards and sails.
Sounds like a plan to me

Now that WA has introduced it and next year NSW, VIC, TAS & SA will be on summer time for 6 months of the year how long can Queensland stay isolated? But Greg's comments are so true, it's a class war, yuppies vs. farmers, southerners vs. northerners, air-con owners Vs. non-air-con owners, hard workers vs. slack leisure seekers, roosters Vs. cows....

Seems as though Dr Beatie [}:)] is run'n outta excuses http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200610/s1773029.htm - NEXT !,
he says he doesn't want to split the state but he knows the states already divided,- all he has to do is draw a line on the map & make it official
Very interesting reading Nebb's

jc13 you are a legend!
everyone should have their say and go, go, go, for daylight saving!
we used to have it and they were the best ****en days of my still really good life.
tell the wife and kids to eat early. CAUSE I'M GOING WINDSURFING AFTER WORK! (mind you i go windsurfing during work)
but that doesn't alter the fact that daylight saving is unreal for after work and family fun.
do the petition, don't let apathy rule.
you know you'll thank me!

I don't mind if you crets want it in SEQ but we hate it in FNQ so if my mate Peter B wants to draw a line in the sand somewhere in between it's OK with me

Interesting to hear someone against daylight savings Greg.
What do you not like about it ? Is it too hot in the afternoons or something in FNQ?

The biggest problem with it in FNQ is your best sleep is had at the coolest time of the night around 3.00 to 5.00 with DLS you want us to take an hour out of that time get up and go to work in the dark when we had it for one year people were walking around like zombies half asleep all day then come home and take it out on their kids
But it will eventually happen because all those mexicans are coming to the Maroon state and want to infect us with it

huh?

Take an hour out of that time? Isn't time constant? Your clock is only moved forward by an hour. Won't this mean that the coolest time is moved to 4-6am. Zzzzzz. I guess that if you have to get up at 5 am this is a problem for you.

Take it out on their kids

Mexicans Oh, I got it Those from deep south of the boarder

What is going on in FNQ

Dood, you need some sleep
