Hiya No-one

you are correct I havent done ether and am not sniffing glue (today)

However I have done the LL many times - not finished all of them though. But what I was getting at is that when doing a coast run for fun I never go as far off shore as they make the runs in the ledge - (as you know the 12Ks by road becomes about 24 for the race) - thats what I meant when I said a lot longer ( just reread your post, and mine and realised what you must have thought I meant)

I think my best time was about an hour - but Im just a kook.

for a run to be fun it doesnt have to be long, just past some good spots. But doing it with a crowd might ruin the whole point - the main reason I do coasties is to get AWAY from the crowd !

(I remember the ether binge scene in "fear and loathing in las vegas" - that and windsurfing dont mix)

Hey, no sweat hardpole, sorry if I sounded like I had sand in my vagina . Some of my favorite sails have been form scarbs to trigg and back with a few mates. How about a beach crawl? Start at Dutchies and sail to City beach and have a beer. Wavesail to Scarbs and have another beer. Wavesail down to Triggs and a beer would go down well, see a pattern forming? To Mets for another and if you can still stand, Pinaroo for a bbq, hey that rhymes! ps, if you drink and sail your a bloody idiot.

My advice for everyone is get sailing fit.Do some long sails at your home spot and be prepared to lose some skin.My average speed always is around the 40 km for the hour. You can go faster but to maintain it for a long time is tough. The most one tack sail i,ve done was about 50km and it was a relief to turn around and come back.Condition your legs, they will hurt.I find it easier to do 150km at the pit with lots of jybes than a long down wind as the brain doesn,t go to sleep as much. I found the chop hypnotic on the long runs I did on the weekend.BUT they are great fun and I enjoy the challenge so.... Go for it
