Is it just me, or is it a blank page at the moment?

Hi Guys,

There seems to be some issues with the current host for the WQ site. We are currently in the process of relocating the site and forum to a new hosting provider.

We will be hoping to have the site relocated in the coming week.

Well OK seeing as it's down, perhaps I can ask the question here:

Does a "Dakine Matrix Impact Vest" meet the requirements of a flotation device for racing?

In other words, where can I get a flotation device that will work (ie allow the use of a waist harness, and be legal) for the racing we do up in SEQ?

The marine permits issued by port of brisbane are based on our competitors wearing a PFD 2. However, the club in the past has not policed this requirement but we must insist on an Australian Standards Approved PFD 3 minimum.

If your impact vest meets these requirements then we are more than happy for you to wear this. If you are looking for a PFD that will work with a waist harness then have a look at the goodtime in brisbane or any canoe / kayak, shops. They carry approved vests that are quite short and will most likely fit.

It is a legal requirement for the club to ensure that competitors are wearing an approved life jacket.

Hopefully the WQ forum is back up soon.
