It only works in N-NE.

You can sail in the lagoon, and point in a SE.
SSE is blocked by the hills more, but SE comes through the gap where the cutting is.
You can usually launch at the point, and sail towards the coloured sands at Rainbow.
Even if there is decent swell wave riding is hard, because it is almost completely offshore so catching the wave, and top turning are really difficult. You can get some amazing speed runs on the waves though.
You'd want to be confident in your gear and swimming because it is very offshore.
But definitely doable, and frequently really clean when the ocean side is usually a mess.

Easterly possible, and would be cross off. But I think it really depends on the headland. I'm sure you know its high up near the lighthouse, and high at the dunes but low at the cutting, which is where the wind can get through.
Anyway, even in a SE its fun sailing. Water is usually clear, lots of sea life and spectacular scenery.
