do i let my friends just 2 of them borrow my boom cuz they broke theirs? It's funny they've got the latest in sails and boards but lack booms..if this keeps on going they're bound to break it and just get me a used one cuz if i know them they'd say it was used already anyways but is willing to get me one if they break but should i tell them brand new or used

Definitely new, there's no way of telling how long a used one will last.
If they don't like it tell them to buy their own.

you bend it... you buy it
Same goes for breakage, you break you buy.
New for old the only way to go

?

to you mate OR to your mate

I can only assume you are referring to a 100 kilo + rider popping end over planning forwards on a mates new gear... before launching himself into/under a thick north west lip and then selecting the full heavy duty wash cycle

Red recently loaned me a spare boom of his just in case the dodgy one I am using falls apart. I know that if I break it, the only fair thing to do would be to replace it with a brand new one.

Johno, always, always, "you borrow with the understanding, it comes back broken then your up for a new one" The value is in what "you" place on the item, not whether its new used or what ever.
I have no issue lending my spare kit, people are more than welcome to use, but break it, replace it, new
