how many guys out there are keen to hit the waves up when we get some wind? haircut I know you will, Garry you as well, would be kewl to get a new fresh crew of wave sailors out there, you know, safety in numbers, feels better sailing with others around etc etc

so anybody want to join the party?

if the wind gets up we should get a common spot to go, say narrowneck or currumbin??? and get each others ph numbers etc to get it going. lmk what you think out there? maybe there already is a local goldy crew that I know nothing about?????

as David lee Roth sang " go ahead and jump"

cool! well thats 2 of us! lol, see jnr freestyle if there is a big day and currumbin is the spot to go, we can maybe arrange for myself or someone closer to pick you up, especially if its going to be whole day out, the more the merrier I say, I remember driving past narrowneck in the early nineties and always seeing crew out, especially Greenleader, but thats the thing we have to build again, same scene as the train, but in the big stuff, how cool would it be to be banging the waves with 10 other guys out there!! all we need is good ne or se 20kn days !

Would love to start venturing out into the waves, but only just learnt how to gybe so I'm not sure my surf experience wouldn't involve being rescued...

Every time I've gone into the waves I've gotten my bum spanked. Every. Single. Time!!!

However getting better at the whole board control thing, and if there were others out there then I'd definitely give it another go... just be prepared to avoid the stationary navigational hazard that is me trying to waterstart in waist-high waves!!!

I live close to Currumbin, would be a lot better than going all the way to the train just for a spot of sailing. Count me in, for one day at least.

excellent! thats what we need, and i know 100% how you feel, I too get a bit nervouse about hitting the big blue pool alone, but, thats it, if you have others around you, we all know each other etc, we can help, keep an eye open etc etc, this is the enthusiasm we need!!!

lets start yacking about this at the train, Nebbian we havent actually met yet, Haircut has pointed you out to me, lets just all get together and have a chat next time the wind is up at the train.

waves? what are they?!

I spose this is the time to do it, while the winds have alot of east in them and give us our annual 3 days of sailable conditions at currumbin.

so long as the waves aren't bigger than 2 ft, i'll be in it remember i just bought all new gear

i hope one of the three days fall on Tony's Tabou comp as well.

hey haircut

lets get this going, a group of us that can all hang out and do some cool ****! I love my flat water drag racing but there has to be more!

im going to have to run my old North Zeta 5.7m wave sail, thats all i have until i order a new 5.8 Gaastra Poison, but im sure it will be a hoot, Im sure in 1993 when this sail was made the guys thought it was **** hot, so im sure today it will still get me out there and back in for my first taste. seeya earlier in the week if it blows

no problem about not being a local, I reckon we use this forum as the who, what where....

therefore if its going to blow on a sat or sunday as per the forecasts, lets organise it here on seabreeze for all that want to hit the waves together to pick a location the night before, and meet there on the day if the wind picks up.

I just reckon it will be a cool thing to do, all helping each other with tips if needed etc, comraderie on the water plus its also pretty cool for passerby's to see a heap of colour on the water, and its sure to re-create an interest in windsurfing again.

The only real time i have ventured in the ocean was like 92 off Merimbula, there was at least 20-30 guys in the beach, I was still not real confident with gybing, was riding a Bombora South Pac 2 but had a ball, now alone no way in hell would I have ventured out, but in numbers you just kinda did what everyone else was, if you fell off while turning it was ussually the spot where everyone was turning, so there was often 1 or 2 guys also floating around, I think this is what both myself and others will need to get us out there.

Its up to us to make it happen, oh and that little thing called wind, would be great to see you blow the cobwebs off your kit and join us

it has been a while for me as well.
Depending on wave size, should be able to take the slalom gear out the back. if it is windier the wave gear will work.

the alley looks good for that type of approach.

mooloolabah and bullcock on the sunny coast work that way so there is always a crowd.

speaking of passerbys becoming interested in windsurfin.

what got me into windsurfing was standing at the lookout when i was about 10 (1982) seeing guys blasting back and forth at Duranbah.
and then of course wind rider the movie

See you all at Currumbin. Especially you Greenleader. Haircut, 3 days a year? More like 3 days a week at the Alley this time of year. The next 3 look awesome. It will be good to get some new blood in the waves. Myself, Ollie, Jon and Nick have had it too ourselves for too long. Currumbin Alley is the safest wavesailing location on the coast in Se wind. Also the best rides. Dont be scared. Waves are about 100 times more fun than Flat water sailing. But that is just my opinion.
