Hey Kpd,
Seems like you're getting that hang of it. The whole learning process is painfully slow and hard, it's just a difficult sport. It seems to me ( I'm also learning), time on water makes heaps of difference. Between watching all the foot work and listening to tips and pointers on Youtube and info from the experienced crew on here, you will steadily go forward. 5 Months ago it seemed impossible to me just to stand on a sailboard and not fall off. Thn slowly I was able to sail out a little, tack and come back. Now (thanks to plenty of info and time on the water) I'm ready for solid winds, high speed runs and chest high waves. Even looking at sails close to 8 meters etc.
Point is, keep at it, and go anyday it's over 5 knots. You learn heaps on those chugging days and will tune you ballance and fitness in the process.
Have fun, that's what it's all about!
