Hi. I need some advice. Now that I have started to sail in waves it suddenly feels like my feet are too narrow for my footstraps (the straps feels too wide sideways). My feet slips out of the straps when attemting forwards and I don't feel "locked in" when trying to do some waveriding and other moves. Are there any brands making adjustable or narrower footstraps? Dakine?

Da Kine Contour straps are my favourites they keep your feet really locked in. You might want to try puting your footstrap screws in different holes, i had a mate with really wide feet so he spaced his screws apart so i guess you could do the opposite for narrow feet.

Wait, wait, wait, did I get that right, you just started surfing in the waves and the first thing you do is throwing yourself in a forward?????????? What kind of fearless bloke are you. It took me 10 years of sailing to do that (ok I am a bit slow).
However, loosing the board in a forward can also have technical reasons, I had that at the beginning, when spinning to much horizontally.

PS: the previous advice is what I would suggest, try DaKine and play with different setups with the screws.

Thanks for your advice! I just adjusted my frontstraps so that the inside-screw is one hole further forward than it was. Now my feet are REALLY locked in, but wouldn't the angle of the frontstrap become wrong when adjusting this way?

i've got a custom waveboard with no extra screw holes and i had exactly the same problem. No matter how tight i made the strap, i couldn't get the strap to grip the sides of my feet, only the top, and it made jumping scary. I tried padding out the insides of the straps without much success. So eventually i sunk extra plugs into the board to narrow them. Now it's as good as wearing booties, and certainly gives you alot more confidence hey! :)

Have a look at some of the kiting straps, they seem to have all sorts of different profiles and styles.

every night sit with your feet in a bucket of chook poo half an our per night for 3 weeks.
I like my foot straps super big and loose for wave riding check out pics of Naish, Polokow, Justin Stock, Mattress Buster, Ben Arther, Bondy, Etc all these great wavesailers have huge footstraps for wave riding.

baring off on your loops should reduce the force of the wind pulling you out the straps. i know a guy who uses boots for the same reason... but make sure theyre really thin or you wont be able to feel sh#t.

spend some time on dry land adjusting your straps. check if your straps have extra holes by removing them and inspecting them closely.if your board has holes closer together move everything in. but whatever you do, dont remove your clothes before loops as gooza recommends. that will only bring tears.

Hi
The straps on both my Exocet and Tabou can be adjusted for width, each side of the strap has 3 positions so plenty of adjustment range. Not sure who makes them but you could probably buy a set of either of the board brands.
