Same guys, there are about 6 events, Birubi, Coffs Harbour, Wanda, Gerroa/Windang... Never sailed Birubi (no wind at the comp which was the only non event for the year) but it looks good, I think a Westerly/South Westerly works well and it picks up swell. It's the northern end of Stockton Beach.

Well worth joining, I did my first wavesailing comps last year and had a heap of fun, met a lot of people and learned lots (nothing learnt from Donk though).

Where do you normally sail?

Sound good,
I'm in the same boat, sounds like. I went to two of the cmps last year and I was very surprised, really good bunch of guys, friendly and welcoming since I didnt know anyone. Had an awsome bbq and even scored a spot prize of a boom, stoooked! couldnt beleive it when I walked in and saw all the prizes and food and even beer!! Do they do this kind of stuff at all the comps or just the ones at gerroa?
Only just started wavesailing a year or 2 ago so Im learning about waves and jumps (kind of trying foward loops even though it may not look like it haha). used to sail at botany and got a bit bored so I thought I should try and do the things Ive been looking at on the videos, slowly getting better but having heaps of fun trying!
Sailed at wanda a few times last year and also been trying to sail bondi in southerlies ( close to home) usually the only one out. Anyone from the eastern suburbs here, Ineeeed a sail buddy!!
oops better run, boss is comin.

Told you crash I was a kook.
Hows freezing Canberra?
Yeah mr plod we do it every comp. seems to work as our numbers have increased which is good for wavesailing.make sure you bring your steamer though as Birubi can be very cool in those winter westerlies.
Last year was the first time that it hasnt had wind.
Normally is 25+knots.
Hey Kremlin have you been out lately?
You seem to have gone from the radar.

me, myself and I... I am based in Clovelly. There have been a few really good days down at Coogee and the Bra in the last few weeks. Only problem is that each time there wasn't life guard, windsurfer or at the very least another surfer in sight.

Not to keen to test my swimming abilities in 3 meter+ waves with cross offshore winds. So in a SWer mostly resign to the fact that Botany Bay is the only safe option. :-(

However, in summer NEer you can't beat Wanda. Always more wind than on the North Shore and last summer we it seemed like we had endless days of good waves with ok wind.

Not so sure about sailing in Bondi. Can't be asked to pay for parking when I can get it for free elsewhere. Where do you usually sail from?

Doesn't look very practical having a wettie with wings on it. Wouldn't that create a bit of drag? They'd be heavy when they're wet too.

My van uses a lot of fuel. Sounds like I should trade it in for a helicopter.
