I think your van must be causing a worm hole or some such wind diffusing device around the Gong Qwerty because it's been shocking of late. I haven't been out since that last i'll fated southerly :| Tell you what though the North Beach Bommie has been WORKING a few times lately, if we get the right s-sw'er I'm taking the plunge if its on.

I think its more a case of worms are causing holes in my van. Yeah that was my last sail too. North Gong Bommie for sure. but don't tell anyone where it is. Its a secret spot!
quote:hey an 1 of my mates owns a chopper an he said he'd take camera man up...
Now we are talking! Absolutely interested. Two seaters usually don't gussel too much fuel. (as far as helicopters go) It would probably make sense to wait until the next comp or for the NEer to kick in again.
Do you know from which airport he is usually flying out from?
haha its funny u ask cos the aiport he flys it out of is his backyard cos he leaves it in his shed, he lives in boolaroo which is on the northern side of the lake but he could just pick u up at the beach or whatever, pretty nuts pilot too so he'll probly love flying round with windsurfers everywhere
Luke...where the fnck have you been. are you sure your mates chopper isnt a remote control one? have you been smoking drugs? What you been up to of late, still got ur commo, im selling my VS 5 speed manual wagon if your interested....
Luke, We're doing a flyer for Birubi 07' (18th-19th Aug) and I wanted to know if we can use your table top photo from Birubi 05' I need to know ASAP. cheers, Dave
I know what you mean, they do seem to dominate the competition eh. Oh I forgot to ask, Im kind of average wavesailor, do a dodgey bottom turn, occasionally go for a foward loop (attempt!!), but I cant do airials or anything like that, would I be competing against the top guys or is there a slightly easier division, oh , and Im in my 30s
hey peto! been busy now that im the biggest druglord of australia, better keep that 1 on the down low to your work mates haha! ye still got me car! il ask me mates if there interested, i drive past ur car nearly everyday! when did u move to warnersbay, i lost ya number so send me yours an il drop in some time afterwork! an ye that bloke seriously flys his chopper out of his back yard. hey dave i dont mind if you use a pic of me for the flyer.
Hi Mr Plod, Open Ams is a good start, usually a Wildcard entry from the Am's is put into the Pro's (on the day) for good measure...keeps the Pro's on their toes.. See you at Birubi..!
Our 'johhny on the spot' tells us Birubi was firing this morning and most of the arvo. We had a hard time getting hold of Kev but when we finally did he told us he was out on a 5.4m and 79 wave board. Not bad for 90 odd kilo sailor. Waves were only shoulder high on average but the wind was cooking with steady cross off conditions. Looking the goods for tomorrow so hopefully there will be a few NSW crew out getting some practice in ahead of the comp.
Hi Jnr Freestyle, Isn't there a QLD waveailng/windsurfing association that can sponsor you to go to compete interstate? I heard Oli's coming down for Birubi..fingers crossed we get a nice forcast though..
lol u make me laugh spagetti, a wavesaling asscoiation in qld. "GASP" naa i donno no-one seems to have enough time or somthing and windsurfing QLD is an abortion at the moment. i'll see what oli's doing
Hi guys 6 sailors out at Birubi on Saturday. Morrie and some Newcastle crew were giving it the going over. Some nice tweaked aerials being thrown and some serious slashing going on. Got to love sailing in cross off conditions and hearing the spray slap down over the back of the wave after someone carves off the top !
Young Luke 'Skywalker' Johnson made a guest appearance and his goiters and aerial antics are still a sight to behold
Sadly wind faded out as the swell started to spike with the incoming tide. Early brigade got the best of it...
Hey Morrie how hard does that new Quatro of yours carve round on itself... very tidy indeed !
Here's hoping for more wind and waves for Saturday. I'll try an post a few pictures and daily reports on the swell and wind direction as it gets closer.
Working the angles to get the windwarrior tent and some FREE beers at Birubi beach just in case the wind does not show. Putting some pressure on the accounts dept to 'sponsor' a box or two !
Fair call, young Luke had a few problems with the hyper drive on the milenium falcon and arrived a little later than planned. Wait till you see the new beach vehicle... no more de riging in the sand, the tray is big enough to cart a fully rigged sail home in the back. Step out of the water and carry the gear up to the beast and drop into the back. That of course factors in being able to carry the gear all the way to the vehicle without falling over !
Keen to get a closer look at the quatro machine... hope to be able to compare it to my new wave machine as well !
