Comrade Filf man
Birubi is at end of Stockton beach.. this very long beach which run from north side of Newcastle Harbour 19 miles round to Anna Bay
Birubi is north eastern furthest point (end of beach) of Stockton
Have look on google earth or do local 'where is' serach for Anna Bay NSW
Is not gnarly... but it can get very big
NSW wavesailing have first comp of season (expression session) at Birubi in August every year... works great in westerly (cross off)
many good breaks around this part of coast which work in just about any wind and swell combination
If no wind (rare) you go surfing. If no surf you go sand boarding

Expression session comp much fun
Everyone get to sail, not like heats with man on man or only 4 people in water. Everyone go in water and go crazy for big moves and hope for judges to see them.
Best 10 go in final with many on beach watching for 20 - 30 minutes and cheering as finalist go for BIG crazy moves. Big moves and much big laughs.
Good chance to meet other wave sailors at comp
Even if you not enter you can still sail with heaps of people on the water

Just took my dog for walk along Birubi beach and quick blast up into sand dunes in 4wd.
From atop biggest dune I see spray out to see... I think jet ski at first then i look more careful.
About 400 - 600 metes off shore a group of humpbacks smashing it up big time !
Watched them for around 30 minutes launching themselves into air and slapping back down on their sides
Truly magical... then I thought about the recent votes from the world whaling convention and thought of some bastard coming along with a harpoon
Maybe we form party - windsufers against whaling
