md74,

It's a lot further north than Kirra Surf, maybe a kilometre further on? Just follow the beach up, you can't really miss it.

Should be there at lunchtime...

for those who haven't sailed there before, the wind is usually stronger there than further north (southport area) when it is NW, but ends up being weaker than southport end when it swings to NE, so earlier would probably be better than later. It might go too east by lunch

Hey Haircut,

Not sure which forecast you're looking at, or if you're thinking seabreeze, but my graphs show it going more west later in the day.

Either way it might be stronger in the morning so if you're not feeling lucky then it might be better to turn up earlier rather than later.

You mongrels. 25-30 forcast for tomorrow and I have to work. NW should be a lot of fun from North Kirra. 3 of us got out there this arvo and Dave is keen for a sail with you lot tomorrow. the average age of windsurfer today at North Kirra was 60 years.

Hey Gestalt,

What sail were you on? What was the wind like? Any white horses?

I went to Cabarita (Cudgen lake), was going to go to Tweed river but got almost there and realised that the tide works the other way when it's a northerly (vs the southerlies I'm used to) D'oh!

Cudgen lake was poo. Got planing a couple of times, but was always scratching. And low tide meant my 37cm fin was scraping a lot of the time... a 30 cm fin would mean about twice the distance between gybes but hey, I need the practice

Hope the wind picks up tomorrow for Kirra

well. tried the rrd out, mental note, it needs 15 knots.

not enough wind for me. everyone else planed.

decided to call it a day, was dredging back in and hit the rocks in the middle........

should have taken the formula out.
