Nah it's a 2005 Cabrhina Element with Recon Gen 2 - But I needed the element because I am learning and don't need the high aspect ratio, only medium aspect... Yeah I think it's a quality brand kite and the board is excellent... But the next board I get I want the Liquid Force Aura Female Board... with the kiting straps and the foot-boots interchangeable... it looks like a sweet board... maybe christmas pressie... hint hint...

Got up on the board today for the first time & travelled about 5m super happy with that... it was way to gusty for my 10m and toos strong... but yah.. NExt sat or sun if its not windy iem back down 2 the cable park... bit sore now, but its heaps fun and gr8 practice...

Goldie on a SSE, Beachfront Currumbin main beach. If it goes SE lookout the Alley. It has had some great waves lately. And with this next weeks forecast for QLD. Cant wait.

hi elizabethb,

that blow at wello yesterday was almost the strongest wind we've had all year. It was rock solid for most of it. I can't believe how good your westerlies are. They are just as consistent as our southerlies. bloody crappy goldcoast

Haircut wello is prob the best spot in a westerly
but it needs to be over 20knots to be consistant.
and is best earlyer in the day.
did you get out on thursday i missed it bloody work.
never mind i had a good day today.cold and raininy though.

Hey haircut,

I heard about the wind at Wello on thursday... so stong even the best riders were overpowered... but at least u got out on a really good westerly... The westerly isn't that bad if u can handle it and the gusts...
Vando, were u at Wello today?
It's the southerly today that pulled me out a bit towards king island and deeper today... but it's all good At least I managed to get up and travel about 20m compared to the other day... just need some more practise... and thats the good part

Good winds

Hi elizabeth i was at wello today.
cold wasnt it, well i was.
I didnt see many kiters today us sailboarders sail over near the jetty, not much water where the kiters go in a southerly.lots of reef too.

Hey Vando... Ah --- That's it, I keep on forgetting that this is a windsuring forum, and not the kiting one

There were about 5-7 of us out there at about 12.30-2.30 or so... the winds were very inconsistant and quite strong for me... Ah yeah, you guys always seem to either stick to the jetty area or near the 'beach' there...
yeah yeah... brag about ur fins.. lol

ah poley... you think you're such a corker don't u too bad you really aren't... The thing is poley, it's not that their 'so hard to read' as you put it, it's that I talk to so many people on here on both the kiting and wind surfing forums and many of them write on both as I do...

Poley ... if you ever listen to me mate, I am doing Primary Education with an Early Childhood Major ... maybe you need 2 do primary again poley.. laters mate... all in good fun ... hope u have wind where u are...

Yes. Waterloo bay is what wello opens out to. On a northerly you generally sail from wello to manly. I think its about 3km across. Nice long runs :)

Cheers

NE or N will get you out towards Manly from wello - you can do really sweet butter flat water runs parallel to the wellington point spit in an Easterly, and W or SW will also get you out on that side from the point, with the wind blowing across from lota/manly onshore to the spit.

Mate, The Train [ or The Trainless] is still going strong. As others have said before, the Alley is a sweet spot for ocean sailing, just dont get caught at lacies or your do the Alley triathlon. [ sail, walk swim]

Nothing i love more is a sou easter at lowtide at The Train. you get that nice smooth glass section along the sandbank, awsome.

Hi everyone back on the coast. I sailed Warren Cornish wave boards back in very early 80's 'till mid 90's when I relocated to Perth. Good to see that some of the more "senior" guys are still about. I will be back on the coast at the in-laws at Burleigh this Christmas and am looking forward to a sail both on the Broadwater and out at Narrow Neck, with some old mates if they are still around.
Ahhh memories!!!!!

I remeber when i first moved over to the Goldie 9 years back and i was under the impression there was no wind to be had. how wrong i was. by then it was too late as i had sold up my epoxy slalom board. i now have a tiga which does me just fine.

I do miss sailing Woodies northside. if any of you WA lads see a guy name Ivan or see Ian at sails and windurfing, tell em Skinny said Hi.

It's all downhill from here guys. We are past the halfway point and here cometh the good wind .

It will be interesting to see just how many windsurfers will be around on the GoldCoast this season. There are certainly alot more about than 3 years ago, both on the waves and on the flat. There seems to be alot of new younger sailors too. We might have to start painting our names on car parks so we can get a spot

Cheers

Yeah Justin, thats a good point. parking is just a pain the the rear on a busy day down The Train.

sometimes you have to resort to parking on the parkland next to the carpark. has anyone been booked by the GCCC for doing that?

And just wondering... did that guy get his North kite back after he forgot to tie his lines on properly and launched? It was at... um.... near southport yacht club?

It looks like a Southwester on Sunday. I think i'll run south to Flat Rock and get some waves. Smack them lips and get some air!!!! The SW will probably puff through at 8 knots now. But "let there be waves". Big bottom turns. Crazy wipeouts and long swims. Yes I am desperate for some waves!!! Heeeeeelp!!!
