Hi there down under!
I have just bought a Genie GT-31 but can't get it to work with the Apple Mac. I have emailed Locosystech (the manufacturer) and they say the Navilink II software which connects it to the computer is not available for Mac. How crap is that!

Can anyone help?

Thanx!

Hi,

I use my GT-11 with a Powerbook G4, no problems. You need a windows emulator if you want to get Navilink working, but there's no real need to do that. The only time you'd need to use windows is to update the firmware, do it once and forget about it.

Once you've got some decent firmware then just use the SD card and a card reader, you can then use either GPSActionReplay or GPSResults natively. I use Realspeed in an emulator, it's as slow as a wet week but I get the results eventually

An intel mac with Parallels would work much better.

Ditto for RealSpeed on my sons MacBook

Also: Gps-Results Mac Version works a treat in Mac OSX on Intel and G4 systems alike!

Hi, thanx for your replies.

What is Realspeed, is it software I need to download? Parallels? My Mac has scuzi or USB

Also the GT-31 does not come up on my Mac as a device, where my camera or ipod normally come up automatically when I connect them. Should it come up there too?

I have a PowerMac OS 10.4.11

Thanx Rob

Hey Rob,

Go down to your local electronics store and buy a USB -> SD Card reader, as well as a 1 Gig SD Card.

Plug the card into your GT-31, set it up according to this page:
http://gpsteamchallenge.com.au/guides/setupgt11_2008.php

Now after going sailing, take the SD card out, plug it into your card reader, and save the file to your home folder.

Open up GPSActionReplay (gpsactionreplay.free.fr/), get it to read your file, and you'll be sorted.

Hey Nebs, don't think that works, last time I looked the free version of gpsar doesn't read .sbin files, you need the gpsarPro version.
