I have cracked my GT11 at what seems to be a weak point.

See below; the crack is where the door latch clips to the case. The casing at this point is quite thin.

Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone suggest a fix?

Had exactly the same problem. Just superglue the bit back in with a small bead of glue behind the broken piece. ie stick it to the front casing half. No leak problems as the seal is formed by the rubber pad on the hinged door. The catch and broken bit are not water sealed so only mechanical strength to hold door closed is required from repair.

Dont close the door until you are sure the glue is set though!!!!

Thanks, frant. I'll give it a go as you suggest.

This catch isn't up to the job and they all seem to do this eventually, rubber bands cut out of 700x23 cycle tubes keep the door closed and the pressure on the seal also.

Just looking at my GT-11. I wonder if leaving the latch undone and the door loose when not in use will increase its lifespan. Any thoughts?

More likely to bump the door and break the hinges.
