I have a few fins ...we don't have weed ...which of these do you think would be the fastest .the meanline
( black ),is pretty good and the tabou ...I just thought I'd ask what other people are using ...are pointers faster
Im new to GPS ..i think a lot is up to the conditions and boards yes ..
but I have had a few fins that feel like your dragging a log .

Apart from the real pointer, those fins are designed to twist off at the tip. This makes them more user friendly when overpowered in the gusts. But probably just adds drag when trying to go fast.
There are a lot of factors involved here, but I'd put my money on the pointer, whether or not I'd loose it is another matter.

+1 for the Pointer - Middle One.

like every one else says go the middle fin but dont be thinking that weed fins are fast they are inefficient and slow its just that often there is very flat water where there is weed and in that case people need the weed fin.

The middle one.

You could be be forgiven for thinking weed fins are faster since that's generally what people use when they get their best speeds, generally because flat speed spots are generally weedy and shallow. But as said, they can actually be quite draggy with the horizontal flex that goes on.

A well made weed fin can be fast, but most sailors would choose a pointer over a weedy.

If you planning shark bay this summer better add a asymmetrical speed fin starboard tack to your collection, I've only used them a few times but WOW they are the Bomb!

Thanks everyone ..it's a clean sweep for the pointer .yes the maui ultra is a fast fin .it came with a mistral I brought in 2012 .i haven't used it much ,as I'm usually on too big a sail ,it's a 32.i think I may have to buy a 38 -40 pointer .i guess you can never have too many fins right .

windzup ...I just brought a XT 22 weed delta .for the trip.4-1/2 month and counting down.
