Can anyone shed some light for me please. I am thinkging of buying a 2014/15 Isonic 87. I have heard rumours that some may be developing stress cracks behind the rear footstraps and are not cover by factory warrenty. Is there any truth in this rumour??
i've got 2014 90 & 107, 2015 130 all in carbon, all are fine. Have seen many other 2014/15 carbon isonics, haven't seen any cracks in them. The graphics are poor quality on 2014 boards & they can easy get little dints in them from rocks/harness/storage but that's about it.
Isonics rule .I absolutely punish my boards through the chop being 110kg .my 2014 90 ltr got a hairline crack when I first got it .only because I tripped a rail in jibe and stomped The deck to hard I mean really hard to stop a catapult. Any other carbon board would have done same or worse. Also have 97 2015 and 117 2014 . Best boards for excelleration and speed .
Cro, I'm using the iS90'14 with a 34cmSR7 for the 7.0 on flat water, a 32cm Winheller for 6,2 and choppy conditions. I tried a 32cm Talon recently and liked as well as the wind is max for the 6.2 but as soon as the wind drops, the board sticks too much to the water with my 87kg. ~Shinobi
Board is pretty fin sensitive, the Drake R2R DW are a pretty safe best. In the smaller sizes I am told that there is not much out there that is better than the these fins.
