Hi guys, back from Hospital yesterday, am OK but laid up 4 months. Can't spend more then 5 min at PC, will post more when I can. Thanks for all the messages I got when lying at the Hospital. For god sakes be careful when sailing off the wind in chop.

Glad to hear you are ok Haggar, I hope you're recovery isn't too slow/painful/boring.

You're misfortune is a timely reminder though for us to consider the consequences of speed sailing.

Hey Fitz and Maximus, went for a run after visiting haggar at Queens beach. Used the Hyper with the 6.7. Guess what though. No GPS. Hope you two or the other SEQ team members got some runs. It was good practice for the first race Oct 7. It was to light for the Stype 93, but would have been nice on the bigger one if i had taken it down. . Was there any wind in Caloundra??

Hi Haggar,

Just spotted this thread

Welcome to the club....

Sounds like you have slightly different damage to mine though. I thought my somi neckbrace was a pain but i guess the halo is the ultimate!

I am seeing the Doc on 24th If all is good then I should be rid of the metal and into a soft brace for the remainder of my recovery.(please God!!)

Just to let you know there is an end in sight!!

PS are you fed up with people saying "could have been Much worse though..." yet?

Cheers

S

At the risk of jumping the gun, it may look like a bit of a southerly system might be forming, indications are that it could possibly happen somewhere in the vicinity of aroundabout this weekend...

Low tide at 12:30 roughly, it would be good to have a concerted effort for Team SEQ. Does anyone fancy a bit of a drive?

Hi Nebs, Golden Beach won't be any good if there is any west in it, Sunday is predicting s/e up here which would be good, but the water never gets real flat especially if there are a lot of people sailing

Nice distance nebbian. We had a up and down day as well. Looking forward to a really windy day al day. We'll have a good go at that distance thing. How many hours did you sail to get the 100?

Thanks mate, three PB's on a day where I wasn't going "balls to the wall" was nice

Sailed for about six hours, that included a one hour break for lunch and changing up a sail.
So five hours sailing time, and a good hour of that was slogging.
I'm sure that on a consistent day it would be easy to crack 150, and 200 doesn't look that far out of reach.

Well done Nebbs, nearly on the 20 kt alpha. It took just over 2 hours for me to get 46 klms with some dredging, so hopefully on a consistent day over 200 is possible at the lake.
