best sport for speed sailing in WA

I have just finished school and I am looking to hit new PB but I am not sure where the best spot would be for speed sailing, my local spot is lucky bay and I know it pre good for speed with the right direction but I was wondering if there were better places

Mandurah Peel inlet but you will need a weed/shallow water fin best bet is a delta fin. www.google.com.au/maps/search/peel+inlet/@-32.60646,115.6506302,349m/data=!3m1!1e3

I beg to differ, if you mean a maui delta, they are OK in flat water, but once out of the flat, they'll spin out.
A fangy delta is designed for the estuary and handles chop well.
At the moment due to lack of weed, there's not much flat water, so it's no where near it's best. Keep your fingers crossed for later in the year.

It seems Albany is a bit closer for you than Mandurah Bay. Both are definitely worth a trip if the wind is good (which seems to happen more often in Mandurah Bay). You definitely want to bring a good delta fin for weeds and shallow water. As Mike said, the Maui Ultra Fin deltas have their draw backs, and Fangy fins are a ton better. But the Tectonic Speed Demons are pretty good, too.

Plenty of very very fast sailors go fast as hell at Lucky Bay (Ardross/Alfred Cove). Are you GPS sailing in a team?
What is your kit and top speed so far?
A crew goes to Albany over summer to get the goodness it offers so find a team that will guide you on your race to PBs. First trip down to Albany with 3 others yielded 17PBs between us. Great location.

Yep Lilacs, is the fastest I've ever been. You just need strong easterlies. Big high in the Bight and a trough down the west coast. Perth sizzles in 40C+ Albany is around 25C. Lilacs is flat as, with 25 to almost 30 Knot winds.

I just said delta deliberately mean all brands of delta. You had to bring the maui into it. All delta fins including the Fangy fin have there problems. Got to say windsurfers are the bitchiest bunch I have come across guess that's why I have not sailed for ages. I no longer get enjoyment from it and am thinking about giving up so you should be happy.

Know nothing about speed spots except I can't wait for lake Grace t flood again, 50km Speed run.

Just looked up Lake Grace on Google Maps. It looks very interesting indeed. How often has does the water level and wind come together?

Sorry if I offended you legless, but remember you could be talking to somebody with no knowledge of delta fins. And buying a maui delta could be a big disappointment.
So why should I be happy if you give up?

Lucky Bay is also a bay on the Swan River that encompasses the Perth GPS speed sailing area called Melville

If you think windsurfers are bitchy then perhaps just stay off Seabreeze. Don't give up sailing. One of the great things about windsurfing is that you can spend the whole day out with your mates and not have to talk to them or listen to them.

Gotta say I absolutely love my Maui Ultra Fins Deltas has opened up a whole lot of shallow water sailing for me, and we also have gps sailors here, but we just let them w#nk themselves while the rest of us 'real world sailors' have a great sail and lots of laughs

If you think speed sailors are wankers, why are you trolling this forum? Anyhow, all good, sledge away
MUFs are a great entry into shallow/weedy water sailing, but if you get the chance try a Tribal Delta they're much more spin out resistant.
