When does a boat stop being and boat and start being a plane, it would almost go it to another class of sailing. If it does what they say it will it will be a hard speed to achieve for a humble board and sail combination.

"cruising speed of 60 knots..." - not bad!

And I bet you it's designed to do it in less then 25 knots of wind.

The Sailrocket 1 did 40+ knots in only 17 or so and this one is more efficient ... not bad at all!

Tim, you gonna have to pull the bar in a bit harder to bit this one...

And yeah, all this work and money just "to beat a simple, humble little kitesurfer"...

Least if at the end of a run the kite or windsurfer can turn around and run back to the start if they want, and don't need a small army to bring it back

don't be so cynical! the technology that has gone into this craft may filter down to windsurfing and kiting

The point that i was trying to make was that all that technology and it only can go in one direction (but I suppose that is what it is designed for speed at the perfect angle to the wind). Hopefully like you say some technology will filter down. I say good luck to them, anyone that puts in the time and effort should be rewarded. Would be great to see it in the flesh, flying down a run.
