Just starting to use smaller boards and larger sails -the 7m cammed with the 95 ltre rocket is ideal for chop in 12-18kts off Coal Pt but if I fall in and the luff fills I doubt I'll have the strength to push it up to waterstart ( heart attack material lifting the 6.6m) so I'd be stuck out there ..not a nice thought..
Coal often gets 12-18kts Ne while Budgy has c 10 -12kts .grr b wildlife..

I find with cammed, big sails, it is a lot quicker to wear a life-jacket, then you swim to the tip of the mast and pull it out easily.

Yep I wear one but it still takes a lot of kicking and puffing to push it up..

I can try but with the sail full of water it will be heavy. I tried to uphaul the 95 with 6.6 last sail and couldn't even stand up although I was pretty tired that day. I need to practise uphauling. The only time I try is when I'm stuck out there and exhausted.

It's getting the tip to break free of the chop that's the problem. Once it's up no hassles..
