We have permits to run at slips if nor-east. Rego etc at Marmong first.

Racing at marmong point sailing club
Sailing at the slips on a Saturday is last resort we complain every year about all the boats out there.
We don't have this issue at marmong . It only takes boat 10 min to get there from marmong
We will be tuning a canteen with hot food and salad rolls drinks so please don't bring your lunch and support the club and the people that have given up there time to run it.

to the red thumbers of byron, we can cook sausages if you don't like Salad rolls.

Whilst not a fan of Marmong as a sailing venue esp in a NE........

given my lack of sailing over the last few years I am happy to race around a bathtub and give thanks to those who organise it all

I have to say I am confused by this decision. I'm not a part of the race committee, but I was invited to the last conference call as an advisor, and I recall that good quality racing conditions was to be prioritised for the location of racing at Lake Macquarie, or any of the events for that matter.

Fortunately the forecast currently is from the South, but if the wind is NE, I'm sure all would agree that Marmong is not the location to provide good quality racing.

Touch wood...but how good is the forecast looking...20knot SE...I'm excited!!!!!

Just an update on this, as announced today, Sunday mornings briefing will be at 10AM not 9:30 as previously announced.

Sunday day 2 Marmong Point Sailing Club
5 races absolutely stuffed.
We had 3 formula and Raceboard races before lunch in 13 to 18 knots before a lunch break.
We Asked the question if we wanted to go slalom as it was windy enough but decided to stay with 2 more formula races and one Raceboard race.
2 races after lunch and it kicked in gusting way over 20 and it was a handful with the 11 for me should have been on the 10 like everyone else was.
I downloaded my tracks and did 75 km of racing no wonder I am tired.
Less and less people with every race as people were getting sore and tired from two unbelievable days of sailing.
Well done to Brett a clear winner in the open & great to see young Nick chasing him all the way to the finish in the windy last race. Nick you really do like it windy.
Wayne, Rick were having a great battle and pushing me all day.
The raceboarders had a blast in just perfect conditions with some really close racing it was great having them at Marmong this weekend really friendly and always welcome.
The FE + saw less and less people every race until none left for the last 2 races as they were all buggered.
Nice to have a shower after racing now we have a hot shower in the club.
A big thanks to the unreal food from the canteen and all the race crew and committee to make an unreal weekend with our maximum of 10 races run.
We will try and have the results up as soon as we can.

What a great regatta, wind both days, rig ones sail (9.6) & use it all w/end and southerly both days which is ideal for Marmong.
Wasn't it great to have a canteen & hot shower available. When you are forced to do 2 days in a row with such big wind you actually start to get better

Canteen was fantastic.. thanks to all those involved for the organisation of racing and refreshments.
