G'day everyone. It's Shannon here and I have just moved to Sydney. The forecast looks pretty good for tomorrow so I thought I would see if anyone is heading out for a sail. I am working in the morning but have the arvo free. I am living in Marrickville and working at the airport. Was thinking Kyeemagh might have some smooth water?
if anyone is heading out I would be keen to meet up and get some info about local spots.

Kyeemagh is a common location for sailing on the south side of Sydney so if you head out there on a weekend you'll likely to find a handful of windsurfers and wingers.

Also as Len says Kyeemagh is good in a N/NE, but also works in the opposite direction although not as well as Kurnell which is on the opposite side of the bay. Bit of a drive from Marrickville though.

Thanks so much everyone. I didn't make it down today but I will keep an eye on the forecast next chance I get. It seems like the down around Doyle point is best for a south east and kyeemagh for a north east. I am keen to meet a few people down here so looking forward to getting out.

Are the locations above affected by the tides at all or good anytime of the day?

I am a shift worker so have midweek days available sometimes as well.

They're good any time of day but it's been about a decade since I've sailed at kurnell (stopped windsurfing during that time, just getting back into it).

Also I misspoke earlier - I've sailed kurnell in pretty much every wind direction except offshore. I've also sailed further down Botany Bay (like around Monterrey) and down as far as the GRSC. It all works but Kyeemagh was my favourite area on the west side of the bay just becuase there's lots of other people out, no kiters, and grassy areas to rig up.
