Sadly Bruce Mahwinney passed away yesterday at 11pm after after a long battle with cancer.
Many of you will know Bruce as being part of the Wellington Point and Moreton Bay windsurfing community.
Bruce was an absolute champ. He always had time for a chat and a laugh & was a super keen windsurfer.
Bruce was stoic to the end, even when his body would no longer allow him to sail you could find him at the point on his tricycle checking out the conditions and having a chat with his mates.
My condolences and best wishes go out to Bruce's wife Kathy and the rest of his family.
He will be missed, always a pleasure & fun guy to sail with- always happy with a smile & looking on the bright side even when faced with the inevitable
He was a good mate who offten was sailing at Wello with me he was a very fit bloke who rode his push bike every day. He came down too see us a while ago & he looked very sick at the time it mad me sad too see how he was. Anyway bye mate.
