Hi.
Take a look at this website for starters
http://www.windwanderers.com/Locations.htmlYou probably won't get the number of high wind days that you'd get in perth's summer during brisbane's summer, or the windsurfer-friendly type of waves the west coast has, but what you will get is some sailing all year round in warmer weather and warmer water.
the average commonly used sail size is somewhere between 5.8m to 7m
our winter and spring season has been un-characteristically wet this year (usually quite dry and generally very sunny) but this la-nina weather pattern might mean we end up with very few northerly winds and many more wet southerlies like we've just had over the last few days.
for lessons;
on the gold coast give Surf FX a call - 07 5531 3199
in brisbane call Board Crazy - 07 3891 6470
i think Surf Connect might also give lessons in the bris area too - 07 3137 0500
or just turn up at Wello, manly, "the train" or "the shearwater" and ask for some tips
