I am only 60kg. I know basic gybe, fast tack and beach start. I am now looking for a intermediate board to progress my gybing and start planing. Should I go for 110, 120 or 130 litre boards?

I weigh 60 kgs and have a 115litre that I use when its around the 10-12 kn range , i use a 93 l freestyle wave the rest of the time but would like a 70l for when its above 20kn .

I think if you go with the 110 you may find it a little harder up front but will have better use for it later as you progress. Where as the 130 will be easer up front but as you progress you may find that it will start to feel like the queen marry and you will want to get rid of it .

IMHO - Unless you intend to use the board with a sail larger than 7m and wish to sail on very light wind days, I'd say you could easily move to boards 90 - 110 litres. You sound like your past the need for very floaty boards.

HAricut is correct the smallest sail I use on the 115 is a 6.4m and I consider that set up as my light wind big gear .

I am planning to use 6-7m sails --- don't know how the size of sails affects what litre of board should be used.
