that's gold notwal....

Hi Remo,
depends really, if it's higher tides i rig at the western end at the main windsurfing area. normally a good crew.
if it's low tide i rig at the eastern end near the toilets with the speed crew. just a short 100m into the channel and off you go.
i reckon 2.30 was about the time i put the 8.5 back in the car. the tide was about mid tide, there was still enough water to sail in the channels with only a shortish walk. by 4pm the water was up to the drain pipes.
at low tide the channel comes up as far as the white posts at the *western* end, any further than that and you will lose your fin.
at high tide you can sail all the way to the *west* and gybe in dead flat water. some guys used to do speed sailing up there.
i've sailed most of redland bay on my formula kit at dead low tide. there are a few areas to watch with the 70cm fin but the whole area is about 1+m deep most of the way to redland bay. in the channels there is a lot more depth.
only thing to watch is a bit of a sandbar that gets shallow at low tide if you are heading over to the bank off coochie. also of course the area up in the creek mouth at mid tide. it is all exposed at low tide. the tip is to gybe at the white poles which mark the mouth of the creek.
