Hey!
Before my flight back home to germany on 27th of december i want to spend my last days learning windsurfing. i'm looking for a nice city/place to stay (19.-24.dec) at the sunshine coast. can you tell me a good place for learning and where i can get lessons and rent stuff over those days?
cheers

best bet is Caloundra,

you can try either

Caloundra wind and surf 0419 670913

or

Sunshine Coast Sailboards 07 54 913 065

both peter at caloundra wind and surf and Dieter at sunshine coast sailboards speak fluent german if that helps but best to start with english.

just helps you hone the upwind sailing skills.

i learnt in the bribie passage. think shearwater conditions. when i eventually taught there we would tether people to the shore on a very long rope and concrete bucket because of the 8 knot current.

you just gotta toughen up!

on another note.

caloundra is a good spot to learn to sail.

At least one of those schools farms out beginner lessons to the beach rental business located on Golden, not too far from the turn-off from the main strip. that may be a place to check out. he has Go's and Start's and small rigs. think he also has a small dinghy to fetch wayward sailors!

SpecialK, just keep in mind wherever you head on the coast this time of year you'll be paying over the premium for hotel/motel accomodation, and a lot of the camping areas will be booked solid.

good luck.

i tryed that and failed that :P
the wind in my 4.7 was not as fast as the current, i ended up turning my board into a ironman paddleboard and went dead into the wind (where i wanted to go)
