Hi guys n gals,

Just wondering if anyone has tried all of these boards and can give their opinions on which is the best performing board as both a blaster and for playing in the waves? Doesnt have to be a super hard core wave board as im not looking for that, more of an all rounder thats fun in the waves but can be a fun blasting board in over 20 knots.

Thanks W4W, i have read those reviews, so i was looking for more amateur rider input rather than a magazine opinion because i find the mags usually tend to say good things about every board.

Been sailing a lot on the 3S+ 2019 96l which I believe is the same shape. Took me about 10secs after powering it up for the first time to think "WOW this works" . Average Joe in choppy onshore conditions but I do pull off my full planning gybes in 4.7 conditions with this board. I can "fin it down" and make it work good in 4.2 conditions too. Turns far better than me and is just a very easy board to play around with. Not tried the other two.

You know my opinion on the Dyno mate; amazing light wind wave board (I'm riding it 13L above my weight), pops onto plane easy, makes gybing a breeze. Doesn't have the most rocker for pocket in small waves but still
performs well just pick your section and fun to blast around on flats too. Had it out in head high Metts today bout 22 knots. Had the 5.3 on it (smallest I would put on this board for me) and it was performing excellent, only thing holding it back was me.
After seeking pics of Subs 3S looks very much dyno like. Would be good to put side by side to check rocker and V and fin placement.
No idea about the JP sorry.

Cheers mate. Only problem with the Dyno's is they're so good no-one wants to sell them second hand. :P

I think that's why they now have the 3S+ (more wavey) and the 3S.
The cutouts were rather unpopular with people who thought they were getting a classic FSW and it had been suddenly made more blasting oriented.

I saw a 2 y/o JP FSW the other day and was surprised at the lack of bottom shape, doesn't look like it would be good at anything. Thus been following this thread for opinions but there is not much about the JP here yet

I was very surprised how fast the 2019 Dyno was compared to my old 3S (which is very fast) as the Dyno is defintely way better on a wave.
Fast and wavey is great!!!

So I say - Madladd if u have money a Dyno. If you need cheap - an old 3S without the cutouts, and get a big wave fin to go with the standard fin thats quite freeridey

Imo the Tabou 3s lean more towards blasting especialy from 2015 when they came with cutouts, they are still a great board if your leaning towards freeride over waves.
Just out of interest I tested my 2015 Carbon 96 3s against a 2015 jp fsw and the jp was a lot nicer in bay chop maybe somthing to do with the s glass over carbon constuction.
I now own 2 of the Jp's in the new shape and couldn't be happier.

RRD are also worth considering, they have made some cracking fsw boards in the past. Unfortunately don't see many around these days. The 3s and the JP have had some great and not so great models and I would love to give a Dyno a spin out in Warnbro sound one of these days.

A few mates use the RRD FSW 2019 model and like them a lot. I still like old JP FSW models. Just yesterday I examined a the bottom shape of a more recent JP FSW, and was surprised by the rails sharpness. It felt almost slalom like. Probably what Mark us referring to. Likely very fast...and not as easy as they used to feel.

I do have a 3S+ too.

My preference is for the 10+ years old JP FSW models. Maybe you could consider older models and save a bundle.

Yes that was what happended to me went from a 2011 3s to a 2015 and I never felt it suited what I wanted it for.
Good to know Tabou have got another option now.

My 94L is a 2018 and 79L is 2019.
I don't think the shape has changed in recent years.
