Hi - can you feel any difference with the gorilla mast stuck up your 2013/4 Blade, rather than say the Redline?
Whats the on-water feedback of the Gorilla mast like ?

I run 13/14 blades, with gorilla masts 400/430, sails are sensational on theses masts, plus their more durable i believe, and also full replacement warrantee and cheaper. i think you'd only go the redline for wave sailing, if you were a sponsored rider, or had money to burn.

I'm not a wave sailor (yet) but I've had an opportunity to try a 5.6 s1 with a gorilla then a red line rdm immediately afterward. The response time with a 100% redline is really really noticeable compared to the 75% gorilla. I don't know how important that is to a wave sailor though, only really useful if you wanna get planing quick smart.....

ive got redline mast from ebay - with a red aluminium collar where the two sections meet, but no real idea of the age?

but when i tried rigging up a demo Blade, the bottom 2 battens didnt seem to come round off the mast as much as id expect ie 3/4 the wave over the mast still, despite what looks like easily sufficient downhaul (floppy in head between top 2-3 battens). I was wondering if the mast curve was now different (and hence the question about Gorillas - i couldnt afford new redlines)

I have used a 400 redline for a couple of years various wave conditions and no breakage so far. Well worth the money as the performance is noticeable.
