OK, time for a high wind slalom machine to be used with a 5.6 Reflex in choppy lake conditions (plus some open ocean). I'm 88kg.

Narrowed it down to the above three, has anyone got any experience / views with these boards?

I've tried the 2017 Manta 88 litre.

A bit bit on the flat side, had to back off it a lot with a 5.5m in 20-30 knots

I much prefer my 100 litre Tabou Speedster for control in strong winds over the Manta 88 litre.

Just a softer ride all round

Patrik 100 litre is another one you might want to try as is the 96 litre Simmer.

I've had 3 sails on my Falcon 89 now and pretty happy with it so far. Fast and handles well in chop. I wrote a few comments in another review thread. I've had 6.0 and 7.3m sails on it and I'm about 96kg

Too early too say yet, very different styles of board. I need a good day at Mandurah.

At 53 strong conditions just don't do it for me anymore

I'll take a warm day and 8-12 knots sub planning conditions over any 25-35 knot day.

A few days ago with my 4.4 m Koncept I had the worst day of sailing ever.

Massively overpowered then a few seconds later the same but underpowered - and freezing too.

A 100 litre and a 6.2 is about as small as I think I'll go from now on.

Much above 25 knots - I'll stick to staying safe.

how often do you get to go out in 89 litre board conditions ??
i am an old, heavy-weight weekend warrior and have to take what i can get
even locals who like big winds - have to travel two-three hours to get their kicks
i use a 6.3 on a 124 liter Fanatic BEE LTD in over 20 knot conditions and prefer on-shore for safety and practice
over 25 knots and it's time to watch - for me that is
one time the wind kept getting stronger and stronger
in the end there was one fellow left and we saw smokin' spray and trees fallin'
i'll stay and watch !!!

Me also.
If i have to use smaller than my liked 6.2 V8 , then it is too much for me too. I have a 5.4 for emergencies for when its getting closer to 30 , but im in survival mode and not having fun. Everything turns gusty and twitchy and energy sapping.

I love having a sail on small gear, but not slalom gear. Smallest I use is a 4.7, only because someone stole my 4.2m, paired with my 78L FSW I have a lot of fun. Nothing like having a light sail and really manoeuvrable board under foot. This is usually B&J bliss, but I leave out the jump bit as 58 y.o. knees complain.

Sounds like you need my JP54 slalom back ??. Don't you have enough boards already. By Choppy lake do you mean the loch or my place.
see you in a couple weeks I will be over.

Plenty
We're a bit spoilt in Western Australia. My 89l board will get plenty of use throughout the year. When the winds a bit lighter it's out with my 113l board. Any lighter and I'll catch up with my chores

He with the most toy wins JB! - you got a bargain on that JP.

Mainly going to use it at LG or the Loch, when its choppy - but lake chop, so it doesn't have to be a ocean goer, as when its that strong I might as well be on my wave gear.

Maybe a Fox 95 would be an option as well.
